I had planned for a male friend to help me assemble this bed, but [...] I decided to assemble it all by myself. The directions were clearly written and quite easy to follow. Days prior to receiving the bed, I downloaded the directions for assembly from the website; however, I discovered that the online directions were slightly different from the directions that actually came with the product. One part (rubber washer) noted in the online directions was not included in the package. It is important to be aware of this else one might become confused. For someone who is being careful, this will not be a big deal. I would estimate that the assembly of this entire bed (frame, headboard, footboard) took me 1.5 hours (tops). My girl power was on overdrive! The bed looks quite nice in my guest room, although the "autumn brown" color is a little darker than I thought it would be based on the online photos. Still, I think this bed will work fine. P.S. [...] I ordered 3-pieces --- headboard, footboard, and frame. With this being the first time I'd ordered furniture online, I was really praying for all the parts to be included in the packages. To say I was concerned about the possibility of having to return any part of my order is an understatement. [...] I think it is important for customers to know that it would be extremely difficult (a real hassle) to re-package any part of such an order for return. This bed weighs 80 pounds [...] Both packages were quite heavy, so I had to open them completely on the main floor of my home and transport each piece separately upstairs to my guest room. [...] re-packaging an order of this type for return would be a monumental undertaking. [...]

The look of the headboard is great but am not able to secure it properly to frame due to misalignment of holes in headboard post.

I purchased the headboard only. My room is not very large and I needed every extra inch of space that I could get. The headboard is very elegant looking. The gold touches throughout goes well with the dark brown frame. I was hesitant about purchasing the bed on line because I wasn't sure if it would blend well with my dark mocha dresser and nightstand. It looks simply beautiful.

Bought the headboard for our redesigned guest room. It looks terrific and assembled easily. Only problem was that the headboard does not lie flat against the frame bottom and had to be lifted and heldto be attached. Would buy again, instructions could be a tad clearer.
