The Chesapeake Poster Bed is an experiment in paradoxical design, as heavy wrought iron twists into a soft, delicate shape. The grandly arched headboard and footboard on this striking bed contrast with the sleek vertical slats, while extensive scrollwork throughout and rounded finials on the posts finish the lovely look. The wrought iron is finished in an antique pewter over a rustic brown base for a sense of depth and timeworn sophistication.

      Ordered Headboard only for masterbedroom. Simply love it. Would have liked to have the entire bed - rails and footboard, but space is limited. Very pleased with the quality and how heavy the headboard is. Makes a nice statement in the masterbedroom. Very easy to assemble and will be around for years.

        Comments about Hillsdale Chesapeake Bed:

        This headboard is BEAUTIFUL! I am very pleased with the quality of the piece. Not at all difficult to assemble (even the wrench was included). There was a flat washer missing, but I had some left over from other projects so that was no problem. Has more brown than pewter to the finish, which worked out perfectly. It's in my guest room, but I would not hestitate to put it in the master bedroom. Probably not a good idea for a kids room.

          I was redoing my master bedroom (after 20 years) and was looking for a GREAT bed. This bed is it! It is so beautiful. I bought it 3 years ago and still when I walk in my room ...I LOVE IT!!!! i was afraid of buying it online from a picture only...but I was not disappointed at all. If there is any drawback at all it is that it is heavy (it is a king) but if anything I think that shows the quality of the bed.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
