The Jakarta Platform Bed rolls Mission and contemporary designs into one simply stylish piece of furniture. The slatted design of the headboard and the tapered legs resemble classic Mission-style furniture, while the dark finish options and low profile give it a modern appeal.

This platform bed is constructed of solid hardwood and is available in your choice of finishes and sizes. It's ready for your standard size mattress and does not require a box spring. The rails sit approximately 12 inches from the floor. Slats measure 2.31 inches wide.

I purchased this to replace a big, hulking, solid oak platform bed with storage drawers that I'd grown very tired of seeing squatting in my bedroom. The Jakarta bed is lovely. The materials and finish seem to be of a high quality, and it arrived without a mark on it. It assembled very easily, although, as another reviewer mentioned, the holes for anchoring the slats to the frame were not pre-drilled, and as I did not relish the idea of drilling holes into my brand new bed, I settled for allowing the slats to simply "float," unanchored, on the frame. We'll see how well this works out over time. All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase and feel I got my money's worth.

The bed looks nice now that it's together, but there were several construction problems with the bed. None of the holes in the wooden slate pieces that support the mattress were predrilled as the instructions stated. We had to cut 2 of the wooden pins down because they were too long and prevented the frame from fitting together. One of the support feet that goes under the slate support has to be wedged under the bed because the metal claw/screw assembly broke. As I said, it looks nice now, but I would not have bought it if I would have known there would be all these problems putting it together.

I purchased the bed for the guest bedroom and the design and quality does not disappoint. I love the clean lines and simple elegance of the bed. I was a little nervous about drilling holes in the frame to secure the slats, but it was relatively easy and the bed did not take long to assemble at all (about an hour).

I bought this bed for my son's first apartment. It's been 3 years now and he loves it. There is so much support because instead of 3 boards across there are MANY. It is very sturdy, doesn't squeak and very attractive. The person who is renting his apartment next wants to buy it, but I'm taking it back to my own home, it's perfect for our extra room! You will love this bed.

We could NOT be more pleased with our purchase. The bed is beautiful, made of quality materials, and went together like a dream. My husband assembled it in less than an hour, with no temper tantrums along the way (unheard of in our house). He especially liked that the slats are connected by a flexible strip.

I would not hesistate to purchase this same bed again, or any other of this company's products.
