The Shaker Street Chest combines the antique style of yesterday with the warmth of today's finishes to create a relaxed, traditional look. Constructed with precision-fit mortise-and-tenon joints, the chest features routed bases with mitered returns and multi-drawer breakup with deep drawer storage. Five-ply top combines the finest cherry veneers and exposes a wonderful solid wood edge, allowing the beautiful cherry veneer to extend all the way out to this solid edge.
An embossed berry-and-vine motif divides the lower drawers from the upper drawers. Authentic turned wood knobs with black finish complete the blend of timelessness and modernity. Like all pieces in Vaughan's Shaker Street Bedroom Collection, this chest is delicately hand-highlighted to bring clarity and depth to the finish.
About Vaughan Furniture
The story of Vaughan Furniture started in 1923 on a small farm in southwest Virginia with two brothers, Taylor G. and Bunyan C. Vaughan. Along with their families, they set out to build a furniture manufacturing business that would survive the Great Depression to become the established Vaughan family legacy that endures today. The company was originally organized, financed and built to manufacture a line of dining room furniture to complement another company's line of bedroom furniture.
Throughout the decades, Vaughan Furniture continued to grow and thrive with each new family member who took over as the company's president. Through rapid growth and expansion, the Vaughan family of skilled craftspeople has always been at the heart of the company. Vaughan Furniture Company remains committed to its fellow employees, its customers and to delivering a quality product at value pricing.
